As we’ve discussed in other posts, by default, WordPress treats your website as a ‘blog’ and displays your newest blog posts on the home page, unless you set a fixed page as the main page.
In a separate article, we have also covered how to create a blog page to display your latest blog post entries.
Regardless of your choice to make recently published post entries show up on your home page or your blog page, WordPress lets you set a specific number of items to appear on these pages (e.g. ‘1’, ’4’, ’15’ etc.)
Your WP site will then display blog post entries on your blog page up to the maximum number of posts you have specified, even if your WP website contains more posts than the number set to display …
Being able to set how many blog posts display on your WordPress site is useful.
For example, you can set your blog to display only the latest single entry that you have published. This is handy for example, if you are promoting a different limited-time offer each week, a ‘deal of the day’ type of offer, publish the latest results of a local sports competition, post an upcoming event, set up a weekly corporate page for announcements, etc.
You can also use this feature to fill an empty space on your blog page if your sidebar menu runs too long …
Whatever the reason, WordPress gives you the flexibility to set the number of posts to display on main blog page.
In this tutorial, you are going to learn how to change how many posts will show on your blog page.
