As we’ve discussed in other posts, by default, WordPress treats your website as a ‘blog’ and displays your most recent blog posts on the main page, unless you fix a page as a home page.

In another tutorial, we also discuss how to create a blog page to display your latest post.
Regardless of your choice to have posts on your front page or your blog page, WordPress lets you specify the number of blog posts to show on these pages (e.g. ‘1’, ’6’, ’15’ etc.)
Your WP website will then display your latest blog posts on your blog page up to the maximum number of blog post entries you have set, even if your website contains more blog posts than the number of posts you have set to display …

Being able to set the number of entries can display on your web site can be useful.
For example, you can set your blog to display only the latest post that you have published. This can be useful for example, if you are promoting a weekly special, a ‘deal of the day’ type of offer, publish the latest results of a local sports competition, post an upcoming event, set up a weekly team page for updates and announcements, etc.
Or, you can use this feature to fill an ugly space on your blog if your sidebar menu runs too long …

Whatever the reason, With WordPress you have the flexibility to specify the number of posts to show on your blog page.
Let’s show you, then, how easy it is to specify how many blog posts will show on your site’s blog page.
Setting The Number Of Blog Posts Displayed On Your WordPress Blog Page
Through its content management system (CMS), WordPress lets you specify how many blog post entries you would like to show on your blog page.
