Do you plan to set up a web store?

WordPress developers not only make great e-Commerce plugins available to users, but there are also lots of great WordPress web templates that you can choose from to easily set up and run your store online.

In this article, we’ll show you where to find many professionally-designed and beautiful website templates to set up a WP-based online store.

Beautiful eCommerce Themes For WordPress

When searching for web templates for online stores there are a number of important things to keep in mind:

Theme Style

As well as searching for a beautiful theme for your online store, you will want your web template to have a clean layout and be fairly easy to edit and customize, so it can be used for any type of store you have in mind (e.g. fashion store, electronics store, floral design, etc).

eCommerce Functionality

In many cases, most of the eCommerce functionality in your online shop will come from the WP plugins you select to power your eCommerce site.

As you will see, however, some themes also include built-in functionality that can improve your website’s eCommerce capabilities and help you provide a better customer experience for your site visitors without requiring extra plugins.

This can include settings that allow you to control your site’s theme colors without editing template code, toggle features on and off, reconfigure your layout, global banner advertising management, optimizing product names, categories and descriptions for search engines, shortcodes and more.

Easy Cart Integration

Most professional e-Commerce themes provide easy shopping cart setup and integration with various payment processing merchants and solutions, allowing you to accept various types of payment online (e.g. credit cards, PayPal, 2Checkout, etc.) and begin taking orders online without going through complex technical implementation processes or delays.

Responsive Design Layout

A responsive theme allows a website to automatically readjust screen size to display smoothly over different monitor sizes and screen resolutions, as well as across different devices (e.g. PCs, tablets, cell phones, etc).

We have written a detailed article about the importance of choosing WP themes with responsive layouts here:

Theme Support

If you plan to sell products or services online, there are many things that can stress you out with the eCommerce process itself. The last thing you want to have to go through when dealing with emails or support tickets disappointed or even angry and abusive customers is to be using an outdated theme that is causing problems and you can’t get the theme developer to get the support you need.

For this reason, we highly encourage you to carefully consider choosing WordPress themes that offer support and regular updates when searching for a template for your webstore. Often, you have a better chance of getting support and updates from premium theme developers, than by using a free theme.

With the above in mind, let’s now take a look at a number of web templates you can use to set up an online store that will keep clients buying products from your website:
