Do you plan to set up a web store?

WordPress developers not only make great e-Commerce plugins available to users, but there are also many great WordPress themes that you can use to easily set up and run your online store.

In this blog post, we’ll show you where to find some of the most beautiful and inexpensive web templates for selling your products online with WordPress.

Where To Find Great WordPress Themes For e-Commerce

When searching for templates for online shops here are a number of important things to keep in mind:

Style

As well as searching for a beautiful theme for your online shop, you will want your theme to have a clean layout and be fairly easy to edit and customize, so it can be used for any type of store you have in mind (e.g. clothing accessories, electronics store, gift store, etc).

e-Commerce Functionality

In many cases, much of the e-Commerce functionality in your online shop will come from the WordPress plugins you decide to install to power your eCommerce site.

As you will see, however, a number of e-Commerce themes also have built-in functionality that can improve your store’s eCommerce capabilities and help you provide a better customer experience for your site visitors without requiring additional plugins.

This can include the ability to control your store’s theme colors without modifying template code, toggle theme features on and off, reconfigure your layout at the click of a button, global banner advertising management, search engine optimization for product descriptions, shortcodes and more.

Easy Shopping Cart Setup And Integration

Most professional e-Commerce themes provide easy shopping cart & checkout integration with various payment processing merchants and solutions, allowing you to accept various forms of payment online (e.g. credit cards, PayPal, 2Checkout, etc.) and start processing orders online sooner.

Responsive Theme Layout

A responsive theme enables websites to automatically readjust screen size to display smoothly over different monitor sizes and screen resolutions, as well as different devices (e.g. computers, iPads, mobile phones, etc).

We have written a detailed post about the importance of choosing themes with responsive layouts here:

Theme Updates And Support

If you are going to be selling products or services online, there are many things that can go wrong with the online selling process itself. The last thing you want to experience when dealing with emails or support tickets disappointed or even angry customers is to be using a theme that is giving you and your customers a headache and you can’t get the theme developer to provide you with an urgent fix.

For this reason, we strongly encourage you to carefully consider using themes that offer support and regular updates when looking for a theme for your webstore. Often, you have a better chance of getting updates and support from paid theme developers, than by using a free website template.

With the above points in mind, let’s take a look now at various themes you can use to set up an online shop that will keep clients coming back to buy products from your website:
