Do you plan to set up a web store?

WordPress developers not only make great e-Commerce plugins available to users, but there are also lots of great web templates for WordPress that let you easily set up and run your store online.

In this post, we’ll show you where to find many professionally-designed and inexpensive website templates for setting up a WordPress-based store online.

Beautiful eCommerce Themes For Selling Products Or Services Online With WordPress

When looking for eCommerce templates there are a few points you should keep in mind:

Template Style

As well as searching for a beautiful and versatile theme for your web store, you will want your theme to have a clean layout and be fairly easy to edit and customize, so it can be used for any type of shop you have in mind (e.g. clothing accessories, selling electronic products online, garden furniture, etc).

Full Functionality

In many cases, much of the eCommerce functionality in your web store will come from the WP plugins you choose to power your e-Commerce store.

As you will see, however, a number of themes also come with additional options that can enhance your site’s e-Commerce capabilities and help you provide a better customer experience for your site visitors without requiring additional plugins.

This can include options that allow you to control your website’s overall color scheme without modifying the underlying code, toggle features on and off, adjust your layout, global banner advertising management, search engine optimization for product descriptions, shortcodes and more.

Easy Shopping Cart Setup And Integration

Most professional e-Commerce themes provide easy shopping cart setup with various payment processing merchants and solutions, allowing you to accept various types of payment online (e.g. credit cards, PayPal, Stripe, etc.) and begin processing orders online without undergoing complex technical implementation processes or delays.

Responsive Theme Design

A responsive theme allows a website to automatically resize to display smoothly across different monitor sizes and screen resolutions, as well as across different platforms.

We have written a detailed article about the importance of choosing themes with responsive design here:

• WordPress Themes Explained

Support

If you are going to be selling products or services online, there are many unplanned things that can and probably will stress you out with the e-Commerce process itself. The last thing you want to have to go through when dealing with emails annoyed or even angry customers is to be using a theme that is causing errors and you can’t get someone to provide you with an urgent fix.

For this reason, we strongly recommend that you carefully consider using themes that offer support and regular updates when looking for a theme for your web shop. Often, you have a better chance of getting support and updates from premium theme developers, than by using a free theme.

With the above points in mind, let’s now turn our attention to a number of templates you can use to set up a web shop that will keep people buying products from your website:
