In this tutorial, you will learn how to install, activate and configure a no cost plugin called Simple Staff List.
Simple Staff List WordPress Plugin

Simple Staff List is free and lets you staff (you could also use it to display partners, etc.).
The first step is to install and activate this plugin.
Log into the dashboard and go to Plugins > Add New …

In the Plugins panel, search for “simple staff plugin”. This brings up the Simple Staff Plugin in your search results area.

After the plugin has been installed and activated, a new menu will have been added to your main WordPress admin menu called Staff Members …

All of the settings for your plugin are configured and managed from the Staff Members menu.
Configuring The Simple Staff List Plugin
Depending on how many people are employed in your organization and how you want to structure your directory, you could just start adding new employee entries at this at this stage, or create various groups (i.e. categories) to assign yourstaff into.

Let’s configure your directory groups. In your dashboard menu, select Staff Members > Groups …

Add new groups by typing in the following information:
- Group Name – Enter your category name here
- Slug – Enter the slug of your group category name. Note: make sure that all letters are in lower case and use hyphens instead of spaces.
- Parent – Use this drop-down menu if you plan to set up nested groups
- Description – Enter the category description
- Click Add New Group when done to set up a new directory category …

If you are a business that employs many people, being able to assign people to different groups can be very useful. For example, you can create a category for founders, developers, faculties, etc.
Create as many categories and nested groups as you want by adding new Groups and then using the Parent drop-down menu to organize these into a directory hierarchy …

To edit or reassign Groups for an individual item, hover over a category title and select the Edit link …

Your selected category will display in the Edit Group page. Select a new parent group category from the Parent drop-down menu …

After you have finished setting up your groups, the next step is to start adding staff details to your directory.
Staff Members – Add New
From your WP admin menu, click on Staff Members > Add New …

This page provides you with an easy-to-use interface for adding your staff member details and includes the following fields:
Name Section (1)
- Name: Your employee’s name
- Permalink: Here you can edit your staff members’ slug (you will see this section after your first save).
Staff Photo Section (2)
- Photo: Upload a photo in this section
Staff Member Info Section (3)
- Position: Your employee’s position
- Email: The employee’s email address
- Phone Number: Type in your employee’s phone number
- Facebook URL: Type in your company’s Facebook URL (note: use the full URL, e.g. http://www.facebook.com/username)
- Twitter URL: Enter your company’s Twitter username here (note: only enter the username, not the full twitter URL)
Staff Member Bio Section (4)
- Staff Member Bio: Enter a profile description for your employee or faculty member here. This uses the WordPress Text Editor, so you can add formatted content into this section.
Groups Section (5)
- Groups: You can assign the person to a specific group (see the previous section to learn how to set up groups).

A field for creating a group name will display, with a dropdown menu to assign your new entry to a parent group. Type in the name of your new category and click on the Add New Group button …
