WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Most businesses need traffic to prosper online.
Knowing how to bring new visitors to your website is one of the most important aspects of building a business online successfully. Increasing traffic to a web site is also one of the biggest challenges faced by almost every website owner.
Why Are So Many Businesses Having Difficulty Attracting More Visitors To Their Web Sites?
Search for any of the information below in Google …
- “how to get visitors to my web site”
- “how do I attract visitors to my website”
- “need to get web visitors”
- “ideas to bring website traffic using StumbleUpon”
- “need more website visitors”
… and you will immediately find loads of information about ways to help you drive more website visitors …

(There are lots of methods to increase web traffic to your website. This article series will help you set up a system to benefit from most of these traffic generation strategies!)
There is clearly no shortage of ways to drive more traffic to your web site. There are tons of products and free sites that can teach you strategies to bring more visitors to your website.
The problem is often more about businesses not investing enough time into learning how to generate web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems that allow them to manage the traffic generation process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are things you can do to automate and leverage your web traffic generation.
The illustration below shows how most businesses approach the challenge of generating website traffic …

(This is how most small businesses approach the challenge of generating traffic to their sites)
Essentially, the approach many small businesses typically take is this: first, you build a website, and then you figure out ways of driving traffic to it.
As we will show you in just a moment, there is a smarter way.

Don’t make the mistake of believing that “outsourcing” your traffic generation will address this problem.
Outsourcing is great if you have systems set up to manage and process information about your traffic generation activities already. If not, you will probably end up spending a lot of your time and money searching for a profitable method.

(Without a solid foundation and systems in place, online traffic generation can be a costly activity!)
Sustainable traffic generation requires setting up a solid foundation online, implementing the right systems, testing elements in your campaigns, experimenting with different advertising and promotional methods, analyzing results, measuring ROI across different traffic generation strategies, etc.
Is There A Way To Automate The Process Of Generating More Traffic?
Imagine if you owned a web site where all you had to do to automatically deliver an ongoing stream of web traffic to your web site was to publish great content consistently.
This is not fiction or fantasy … it’s a fact! In fact, many website owners are currently already enjoying the benefits of this automated traffic system … and so can you!
In the WordPress Traffic Blueprint article series, we will show you how to create an automated traffic system that can help begin to attract new visitors to your site, simply by adding new content on a regular basis to your website.
How To Set Up An Automated Web Traffic System
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic blueprint we discuss in this article series involves three fundamental steps:
- Set up specific systems to lay down a solid foundation for creating sustainable traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to start driving traffic and generating data
- Test new traffic methods

(To generate sustainable traffic, you need to first put in the right systems)
At this point, we’ll mostly be focusing on Step One. The purpose of our article series is to explain the process of setting up a traffic generation system that will ultimately help you:
- Save time using leverage and automation
- Save money in many different ways
- Automatically notify search engines
- Instantly share your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Gain valuable insights about your traffic generation methods, monitor results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
You can achieve all of the above using what we will refer to throughout our article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress web site …

(With an expertly configured WordPress website, you simply add new content and WordPress does the rest!)
What Is An Expertly Configured WordPress Website?
An expertly configured WordPress site is not the same thing as a professionally-configured WordPress website or blog.
An ”expertly configured” WordPress website or blog is a blog that is not only driven by the WordPress CMS platform, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take advantage of the enormous power, ease-of-use and built-in functionality of WordPress and its integration with other services, specifically in areas like search engine optimization, third-party site syndication, and analytics.
Why Do I Need An Expertly Configured WordPress-Powered Site?
We provide a number of detailed blog posts on this site about why you should use WordPress-powered web sites the WordPress CMS to grow your business online.
Understanding why and how an “expertly configured” WordPress website can be used to set up an automated traffic system requires several articles, which is why we really recommend that you spend some time reading our other articles and subscribe to our site (this way, you will be informed when we publish a new article).
Let’s start by addressing a couple of basic questions:
Why does it need to be WordPress? What does WordPress provide that other web platforms don’t?
Take a look at the picture below …

(Static vs Expertly Configured WordPress Website)
Many web sites are traditionally built on applications that create websites with “static” web pages. Essentially, this means that the content files simply sit inside a server waiting to be discovered. The static website doesn’t communicate with anyone else outside the application; it doesn’t ’ping’ anybody in the cybersphere or inform any other site that new content has been added.
Think about it … if with a traditional website, the content just sits there passively waiting to be found, then the business owner has to continually keep promoting their web presence and its content to continue driving new visitors.
WordPress is different!
The WordPress application comes with default functionality that gives you the ability to set up, easily configure and build an automated “traffic generation” machine, where all you then need to do is post content and your site does the rest, immediately notifying various online properties about your site to automatically bring you more website visitors …

(With an expertly configured WordPress website, you simply post new content and your website will do the rest, notifying the world about your new content and bringing you back traffic!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …

(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part 2 of The Web Site Traffic Blueprint overview, we explain the components of your automated traffic system:
- Setup – Learn the best way to get started if you don’t have a website yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – By default, WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings to help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings need to be expertly configured for optimal results.
- Automate – Your traffic machine not only requires expert configuration of internal WordPress settings but also an integration of your WordPress functionality with 3rd-party tools and other online properties (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – After your WordPress site settings have been configured and integrated with various external tools, you then begin publishing new content on a regular basis and WordPress will instantly notify and inform search engines, your social media pages and other online properties about the new content, giving your content wider online exposure to potential new visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend starting with a content publishing strategy to build sustainable traffic. With the right systems in place, you can then start tracking and analyzing the traffic generated as a result and gather valuable data that will allow you to make more intelligent and cost-effective decisions when expanding to different traffic generation methods.
