WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Traffic is the lifeblood of just about every single business online.
Learning how to attract new traffic to your website is vital to growing a successful business online. Lack of web traffic is also one of the most common complaints made by website owners everywhere.
Why Are So Many Businesses Struggling To Get Visitors To Their Websites?
If you search for any of the information below in Google …
- “attract traffic to my web site for free”
- “how do I drive more web traffic to my website for free”
- “best 50 places to bring more web visitors”
- “learn how to attract more web visitors using banner ads”
- “attract traffic to my web site”
… and you will be presented with tons of sites offering you tips, tricks, and information about ways to drive more website visitors …

(There are loads of ways to increase your website visitors. This article series will show you how to set up a system to take advantage of many of these traffic generation strategies!)
There is clearly no shortage of ways to drive traffic to your site. There are loads of tutorials and free sites that can teach you cost-effective ways to bring more traffic to your site.
The problem often has more to do with business owners not investing enough time into learning how to generate new web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems for managing the process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are ways to configure your website to leverage and automate your web traffic generation.
The illustration below shows the approach most small businesses take when it comes to generating website traffic …

(This is how most website owners approach traffic generation)
Essentially, the approach many businesses typically take is this: first, you build a website, and then you figure out ways of driving traffic to your website.
As we will show you in just a moment, there is a smarter way.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that ”outsourcing” your traffic generation to experts will take care of this problem.
There is nothing wrong with outsourcing if you have systems in place to manage your traffic generation activities. If not, all you will probably do is end up spending a lot of time and money searching for a winning strategy.

(Without a proper foundation and systems in place, website traffic generation can end up becoming very costly!)
Driving web traffic sustainably requires setting up a solid foundation online, implementing systems, testing elements in your campaigns, experimenting with different methods, tracking results, measuring ROI across different traffic generation opportunities, and so on.
Is There A Simple, Automated Way To Get More Traffic?
Imagine if all you had to do to automatically attract new visitors to your site was to publish great content consistently.
This is not fantasy … it’s a fact! As a matter of fact, many website owners already have some or all of the elements in place to benefit from the automated traffic system described above … and you can too!
In the Website Traffic Blueprint article series, you will learn how to create an automated traffic generation machine that can instantly begin to attract web traffic to your business, simply by adding regular content to your site.
How To Set Up An Automated Traffic Generation System
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic method we present in this article series involves 3 basic steps:
- Set up systems to lay down a solid foundation for driving sustainable web traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to drive visitors and generate web traffic data organically
- Add other traffic methods and test

(Sustainable traffic generation requires laying a solid foundation online and implementing proper systems)
At this stage, we’re mostly concerned with Step One. The purpose of this article series is to help you lay the foundations for a traffic generation system that will ultimately:
- Save time using automation and leverage
- Save money in many different ways
- Automatically notify search engines
- Instantly share your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
- Gain valuable insights about your traffic generation strategies, track results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
All of the above can be achieved using what we will refer to throughout our article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress blog …

(With an expertly configured WordPress site, you simply publish new content and your website then does the rest, informing the world about your content and bringing you back traffic!)
An Expertly Configured WordPress Website – What Is It?
An expertly configured WordPress web site is not the same thing as a professionally-configured WordPress site.
An expertly configured WordPress blog is a blog that is not only driven by WordPress, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take full advantage of the enormous power, ease-of-use and built-in functionality of WordPress and how it can be integrated with other sites, specifically in areas like search engine optimization, content syndication, and reporting.
Why Do I Need An Expertly Configured WordPress-Driven Web Site?
We write extensively on this site about the benefits of using WordPress to grow your business online.
Understanding why and how an “expertly configured” WordPress blog can help begin driving an ongoing stream of targeted traffic to your business requires a number of article installments, which is why we recommend that you spend some time reading our posts and consider subscribing to our site (this way, you will be informed when a new article gets published).
Let’s start by addressing some basic questions:
Why use WordPress to set up an automated traffic generation system? Why can’t you just use some other web platform?
Take a look at the picture below …

(Static vs Expertly Configured WordPress Site)
Many sites are built with applications that create websites with “static” web pages. Essentially, what this means is that the content mostly sits inside the server waiting to be found. The static website doesn’t communicate with anything else outside the platform; it doesn’t ’ping’ anyone in cyberspace or announce to any other website that new content has recently been published on your website.
Think about it … if in a static website, all of your content just sits in a server passively waiting to be found, then you have to continually promote your website and your content to maintain web traffic coming.
WordPress is different!
The WordPress application provides special features that give site owners the ability to set up, easily configure and build an automated “traffic generation” machine, where all you then need to do is publish content and WordPress does the rest, instantly notifying various online properties about your site to start generating your business new web traffic …

(With an expertly configured WordPress website, you simply post new content and your site will do the rest!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …

(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part Two of The Web Site Traffic Blueprint overview, we explain the components of your automated website traffic system:
- Setup – Learn the best way to get started if you don’t have a web presence yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings that can help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings need to be configured for optimal results.
- Automate – Your traffic machine requires not only expert configuration of internal WordPress settings but also integrating your site’s built-in functionality with 3rd-party tools and other online properties (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – Once your site settings have been configured and integrated with various external sites, you then begin to publish new content regularly and WordPress will instantly notify and inform search engines, your social media sites and other online properties about the new content, giving your site wider exposure online to potential visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend starting with a content-based strategy to build traffic sustainably. With the right systems in place, you can start monitoring and understanding your incoming traffic and gather valuable data that will allow you to make better decisions as you expand to different traffic generation methods.
