How To Create A To Do List In WordPress

WordPress Plugin Tutorials - How To Create A To Do List In WordPressTime always seems to be in short supply, especially if you run a growing business or manage a team.

There is just too much to do and remember. You have clients to meet, urgent tasks to complete, priorities to attend to, fires to put out, calls and appointments to make, schedules to keep and so on. The amount of things that need to get done never seems to end.

Now … add the extra dimension of promoting and growing your business online and keeping your website updated with fresh content and everything can quickly start feeling unmanageable and overwhelming.

Whether you are running a business, website, blog, or managing a project, it’s important to be able to organize and manage your day.

One simple proven method that can help you save time, reduce stressful workloads, and allow you to gain some control is to use “to-do” lists.

To Do Lists – Benefits

A “to-do” list helps you measure your progress as you work to achieve your goals. Your to do list can be very detailed or specific, or serve as a concise reminder of tasks that need to be done over a given period of time.

Here are some of the many benefits of using to-do lists:

Clearer Thinking

Creating to-do lists means you don’t have to try to memorize things or store a ton of information inside your mind. Once things are recorded on a to do list, your brain is free to process information and you can focus on more important things.

Better Strategic Planning

By creating and organizing a to-do list, you can view the bigger picture and come up with a strategic plan to get tasks done on time and on budget.

Log Your Work

To-do lists let you maintain documented logs of what has been done. You can use this as evidence of work to employers or clients, or simply as a method of helping you assess your own productivity and efficiency.

Less Stress

Stress can result from feeling overwhelmed by so much to do and so very little time to do it all in. Creating a to do list lets you work on urgent tasks that need to get done within the time you have available, and reschedule tasks that can be worked on later. This can help reduce stress.

Working With Others

Creating to do lists and other project management tools is essential for working with other people on some of your larger or more complex projects.

As you can see, there are many benefits to using a to do list, both in business and in your personal life. Create a list, prioritize your list items and work things systematically and productivity and efficiency in your business is sure to increase.

What about using a to do list on your website?

In this detailed step-by-step tutorial we are going to show you how to create a to do list in WordPress to improve business efficiency and productivity using a customizable, multi-featured to do list plugin for WordPress called Cleverness To-Do List.

Cleverness plugin WordPress

Plugin URL

Description

This WordPress plugin lets you easily add to-do lists to a WP website or blog.

Features

Note: the features described below will be discussed in more detail in the tutorial section.

You can configure the plugin with private to-do lists for individual users, to have all users share your to-do list, or to have a master list with individual completion of items.

The shared to-do list has a variety of settings available. You can assign to do items to a specific user (this includes a setting to email new to do items to users) and optionally to have assigned items only viewable by that user. You can also assign different permission levels to different users. There are also settings available to enable the display of deadline and progress fields. Category support is included as well as front-end administration.

A new menu item is added to the admin backend to manage your lists and the to do lists can also be displayed on a dashboard widget.

A sidebar widget is available as well as short code to display the to do list items on your blog. There are 2 short codes for front-end list administration. Category management is accessed via the back-end.

If you plan to run a multi-author site you can use the to-do lists plugin to create custom to-do lists for your post planners if you also install the developer’s premium plugin, Post Planner.
