WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Most businesses need a constant stream of new web visitors to grow online.
Discovering sustainable methods of getting visitors to your website is vital to running a business online successfully. Increasing visitors to a website is also one of the biggest challenges faced by most website owners.
Why Are So Many Businesses Having Difficulty Bringing More Visitors To Their Websites?
Type in any of the phrases below into Google …
- “how to increase visitors to my web site for free”
- “how do I attract visitors to my website for free”
- “best 5 methods to increase visitors”
- “how to increase web traffic using paid advertising”
- “I need more free web visitors”
… and you will find loads of tips, tricks, and information about different strategies to help drive more traffic to your site …
(There are many ways to increase your website visitors. This article series will show you how to set up a system to take advantage of many of these traffic generation strategies!)
There is clearly no shortage of ways to drive traffic to your website. There are loads of courses and free sites online that can show you cost-effective strategies to increase traffic to your site.
The problem often has more to do with businesses not investing sufficient time into learning how to generate web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems to manage the process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are things you can do to leverage and automate your web traffic generation.
The illustration below shows how most businesses approach the process of generating web traffic …
(This is how many businesses approach traffic generation)
Essentially, the typical approach many businesses take is this: first, you get your website, and then you figure out ways of driving traffic to your website.
As we will show you in just a moment, there is a better way.
You shouldn’t make the mistake of thinking that ”outsourcing” your traffic generation to professionals will address this problem.
Outsourcing is great if you have great systems set up to manage your traffic generation campaigns already. If not, you will probably end up investing a lot of your time and money searching for a profitable traffic method.
(Without a proper foundation and the right systems in place, traffic generation can end up becoming a very costly activity!)
Getting regular web traffic sustainably involves laying a solid foundation online, putting systems in place, continually testing elements in your campaigns, experimenting with different advertising and promotional strategies, analyzing results, comparing ROI across different traffic generation solutions, and so on.
Is There A Simpler, Automated Way To Generate More Web Traffic?
Imagine if all you had to do to instantly deliver new targeted traffic to your website was to publish valuable content on a regular basis.
This is not fantasy … it’s a fact! As a matter of fact, many website owners already have some or all of the basic components in place to profit from the automated traffic system we have just described … and so can you!
In our Web Traffic Blueprint article series, we explain the process of setting up an automated traffic machine that can help begin driving web traffic to your site, simply by adding content on a consistent basis to your website.
How To Set Up An Automated Web Traffic System
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic method we discuss in this article series involves three fundamental steps:
- Set up systems to lay down a solid foundation for driving sustainable web traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to start driving traffic and generating traffic data
- Add new traffic methods and test
(To get sustainable web traffic, you first need to put in the right systems)
Right now, we’re mostly concerned with Step 1. The purpose of this article is to help you set up a traffic generation system that will ultimately:
- Save time using leverage and automation
- Save money by starting with a very simple setup and scaling up in an economic and sensible way
- Automatically notify search engines
- Instantly share your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
- Access valuable data about your traffic generation strategies, analyze results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
All of the above can be achieved using what we will refer to throughout our article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress website or blog …
(With an expertly configured WordPress web site, you simply add content and WordPress will do the rest!)
What Is An Expertly Configured WordPress Web Site?
An expertly configured WordPress web site is not the same thing as a professionally-configured WordPress web site.
An ”expertly configured” WordPress blog is a website that is not only built on WordPress, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take full advantage of the tremendous power, features and built-in functionality of WordPress and its integration with other sites, specifically in areas like search engine optimization, content syndication, and analytics.
Why Do I Need An Expertly Configured WordPress-Driven Web Site?
We provide a number of excellent articles on this site about the benefits of using the WordPress platform to grow your business online.
Understanding how and why an “expertly configured” WordPress blog will help attract targeted traffic to your business requires several article installments, which is why we strongly recommend that you spend some time reading our posts and consider subscribing to our site (this way, we can let you know when a new article is published).
Let’s begin by addressing these basic questions:
Why does it need to be WordPress? What does WordPress do that other web platforms don’t?
Take a look at the diagram below …
(Static vs Expertly Configured WordPress Site)
Many websites are traditionally built using applications that create websites with “static” web pages. Essentially, what this means is that the website content simply sits inside your server waiting to be discovered. A static website doesn’t communicate with anything outside its application; it doesn’t broadcast to anybody in the cybersphere or announce to any other site that new content has recently been published in the website.
Think about it … if with a static website, the content simply sits in a server passively waiting to be found, then the website owner has to constantly keep on promoting their website and its content to maintain web visitors coming.
WordPress is different!
The WordPress CMS software provides special features that let users set up, configure and build an automated “traffic generation” machine, where all you then have to do is add content and WordPress will then do the rest, instantly notifying various online properties about your new content to start generating you more website visitors …
(With an expertly configured WordPress site, you just add content and your website does the rest, informing other sites about your content and bringing you back web traffic!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …
(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part Two of The WordPress Web Traffic Blueprint overview, we go over the components of your automated online traffic system:
- Setup – Learn the best way to get started if you don’t have a website yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings that can help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings have to be configured for optimal results.
- Automate – Your traffic machine requires not only internal WordPress settings to be expertly configured but also integrating your site with 3rd-party services and other sites (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – Once configuring your site settings and integrating your site with various third-party tools, all you have to do is publish new content regularly and WordPress will immediately notify and inform search engines, your social media sites and other online properties about the new content, giving your content wider online exposure to potential new visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend beginning with a content publishing strategy to build organic traffic. With the right systems in place, you can then begin monitoring and analyzing your results and gather valuable data that will allow you to make smarter decisions when using other traffic generation methods.
