WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Traffic is the lifeblood of just about every business online.
Knowing how to attract more visitors to your website is one of the most important aspects of building a business online successfully. Lack of online visitors is also one of the most common complaints made by website owners everywhere.
Why Do So Many Small Businesses Struggle To Get Visitors To Their Web Sites?
Search for any of the key phrases below in Google …
- “how to bring more traffic to my web site for free”
- “how do I drive more traffic to my website for free”
- “best 5 places to drive website visitors”
- “ideas to get more traffic using solo ads”
- “I need website visitors”
… and you will be presented with loads of tips, tricks, and information on different ways to help increase visitors to your website …
(There are many strategies to get more website visitors. This article series is designed to help you set up a system to benefit from all these traffic generation strategies!)
There is clearly no shortage of ways to drive more traffic to your web site. There are tons of courses and free information online that can show you effective strategies to bring more visitors to your web site.
The problem is often more about business owners not investing sufficient time into learning how to drive web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems that allow them to manage the process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are several ways to automate and leverage your web traffic generation.
The picture below shows how many small businesses approach the challenge of generating web traffic …
(This is how many small businesses approach traffic generation)
Essentially, the approach most small businesses typically take is this: first, you get your website, and then you figure out ways of driving traffic to the site.
As we will show you in a moment, there is a better approach.
You shouldn’t make the mistake of believing that “outsourcing” your traffic generation will eliminate this problem.
There is nothing wrong with outsourcing if you have the systems set up to manage and process information about your traffic generation campaigns already. If not, all you will probably do is end up wasting a lot of your time and money searching for a profitable traffic-getting method.
(Without a solid foundation and proper systems in place, website traffic generation can be a very costly activity!)
Driving continuous web traffic sustainably involves setting up a solid foundation online, implementing proper systems, testing campaign variables, experimenting with different marketing and promotional strategies, analyzing results, comparing ROI across different traffic generation methods, etc.
Is There A Way To Automate The Process Of Getting Website Visitors?
Imagine owning a web site where the only thing you had to do to instantly deliver new targeted traffic to your business was to regularly publish content to your web site.
This is not science fiction … it’s a fact! As a matter of fact, many website owners are currently doing this … and so can you!
In the Web Site Traffic Blueprint article series, we will show you how to create an automated traffic machine that will attract new targeted traffic to your site, simply by adding regular content to your web site.
How To Set Up A System That Will Automatically Help Increase Traffic To Your Website
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic method we discuss in this article series involves 3 basic steps:
- Set up specific systems to lay down a solid foundation for creating sustainable traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to drive traffic and generate data organically
- Test other traffic strategies
(To get sustainable web traffic, you first need to set up the right systems)
Right now, we’ll mostly be focusing on Step 1. The purpose of our article series is to show you how to set up a traffic generation system that will ultimately:
- Save time using leverage and automation
- Save money in lots of different ways
- Automatically get your web pages indexed faster in search engines
- Instantly share your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.)
- Gain valuable insights about your traffic generation methods, track results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
All of the above can be achieved using what we will refer to throughout our article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress blog …
(With an expertly configured WordPress web site, you simply publish content and WordPress will then do the rest!)
What Is An Expertly Configured WordPress Website?
An expertly configured WordPress website or blog is not the same as a professionally-configured WordPress web site.
An ”expertly configured” WordPress website is a website or blog that is not only driven by the WordPress CMS platform, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take advantage of the enormous power, features and built-in functionality of WordPress and its integration with other sites, specifically in areas like SEO, external site notification, and reporting.
Why Use An Expertly Configured WordPress Website?
We have published many detailed blog posts on this site about the benefits of using WordPress-driven sites to grow your business online.
Understanding why and how an “expertly configured” WordPress site will help deliver targeted visitors to your business requires a number of articles, which is why we strongly recommend that you spend some time reading our other articles and subscribe to this site (this way, we can let you know whenever we publish new content on this topic).
Let’s start by addressing these basic questions:
What makes WordPress so special? Why can’t you just use some other web platform?
Take a look at the diagram below …
(Static Website vs Expertly Configured WordPress Site)
Many web sites are traditionally built on applications that create websites with “static” web pages. Essentially, this means that your content pages mostly sit inside your server waiting to be found. The static website doesn’t communicate with anyone else outside its application; it doesn’t ’ping’ anybody in cyberspace or announce to any other site when new content has been added to your site.
Think about it … if in a traditional website, your content just sits in a server passively waiting to be found, then you have to continually promote your website and your content to maintain web traffic coming.
WordPress is different!
The WordPress CMS application provides several features that give you the ability to set up, configure and build an automated “online traffic generation” machine, where all you then have to do is post content and WordPress then does the rest, immediately notifying search engines, social media and other online properties about your new content to automatically drive you more web traffic …
(With an expertly configured WordPress web site, you just add new content and your website then does the rest!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …
(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part Two of The Website Traffic Blueprint overview, we go over the components of your automated traffic machine:
- Setup – Learn the best way to get started if you don’t have a web presence yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings to help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings need to be configured for best results.
- Automate – Your traffic system requires not only internal WordPress settings to be expertly configured but also an integration of your site’s built-in functionality with third-party tools and other web properties (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – After your WordPress site settings have been configured and integrated with various third-party sites, you simply begin publishing new content on a regular basis and WordPress will instantly notify and inform search engines, your social media sites and other online properties about the new content, giving your content wider exposure online to new visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend starting with a content publishing strategy to build organic traffic. With the right systems in place, you can then begin to monitor and understand incoming traffic and start gathering valuable data that will allow you to make smarter decisions as you expand to different traffic generation strategies.
