WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Web traffic is the lifeblood of just about every single business online.
Learning how to attract new visitors to your website is vital to building a successful business online. Getting traffic to a web site is also one of the greatest challenges faced by almost every business owner.
Why Do So Many Businesses Have Difficulty Bringing Traffic To Their Websites?
Type any of the phrases below into Google …
- “how to bring more visitors to my web site for free”
- “get web traffic to my web site for free”
- “how to increase web visitors”
- “how to bring more web site traffic using podcasts”
- “need more web site traffic”
… and you will find loads of tips, tricks, and information on methods to help drive more website visitors …

(There are lots of ways to increase web traffic to your website. This article series will help you set up a system to take advantage of many of these traffic generation methods!)
There is clearly no shortage of ways to drive traffic to your website. There are tons of courses and free resources that can teach you effective ways to bring more traffic to your site.
The problem is often more about business owners not investing sufficient time into learning how to drive web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems for managing the process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are things you can do to automate and leverage your web traffic generation.
The illustration below shows the approach most small businesses take when it comes to generating website traffic …

(This is how most small businesses approach traffic generation)
Essentially, the typical approach most small businesses take is this: first, you build your website, and then you figure out how to drive traffic to your site.
As you will see in a moment, there is a smarter way.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that ”outsourcing” your traffic generation to professionals will address the problem.
There is nothing wrong with outsourcing if you have systems in place to manage your traffic generation campaigns already. If not, you will probably end up spending a lot of time and money looking for a winning traffic strategy.

(Without a proper foundation and the right systems in place, online traffic generation can end up being a costly waste of time and money!)
Increasing web traffic sustainably involves setting up a solid foundation online, implementing proper systems, continually testing elements in your campaigns, experimenting with different services, analyzing results, comparing ROI across different traffic generation strategies, etc.
Is There A Simple, Automated Way To Get More Web Traffic?
Imagine if you owned a website where the only thing you had to do to drive new visitors to your website was to regularly publish content to your web site.
This is not science fiction … it’s a fact! Many website owners are currently doing this … and so can you!
In the WordPress Traffic Blueprint article series, we explain what it takes to set up an automated traffic system that will help begin to attract targeted traffic to your web site, simply by publishing regular content to your web site.
How To Set Up An Automated Traffic Generation System
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic blueprint we discuss in this article series involves 3 basic steps:
- Set up systems to lay down a solid foundation for creating sustainable traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to start driving traffic and generating data
- Add other traffic methods and test

(Sustainable traffic generation involves setting up a solid foundation online and implementing the right systems)
Right now, we’re mostly concerned with Step 1. The purpose of our article series is to explain the process of setting up a traffic generation system that will ultimately:
- Save time using leverage and automation
- Save money in lots of different ways
- Automatically get your website content indexed faster in search engines
- Instantly notify and publicize your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Access valuable data about your traffic generation methods, track results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
All of the above can be achieved using what we will refer to in this article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress blog …

(With an expertly configured WordPress site, you simply add new content and your website does the rest!)
What Is An Expertly Configured WordPress Web Site?
An expertly configured WordPress site is not the same as a professionally-configured WordPress site.
An expertly configured WordPress site is a web site that is not only powered by the WordPress CMS platform, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take full advantage of the enormous power, ease-of-use and functionality of WordPress and how it can be integrated with various services, specifically in areas like SEO, third-party site syndication, and analytics.
Why Do I Need An Expertly Configured WordPress-Powered Web Site?
We write extensively on this site about the benefits of using WordPress-driven websites to grow your business online.
Understanding how and why an “expertly configured” WordPress web site can help drive targeted traffic to your business requires several articles, which is why we highly recommend that you spend some time reading our posts and consider subscribing to this site (this way, we can let you know whenever a new article is published).
Let’s start by answering some basic questions:
Why does it have to be WordPress? Why not use some other platform?
Take a look at the diagram below …

(Static Website vs Expertly Configured WordPress Site)
Many sites are traditionally built with applications that create “static” websites. Essentially, what this means is that the website pages mostly sit inside the server waiting to be found. The static website doesn’t communicate with anything outside its platform; it doesn’t broadcast to anybody in the cybersphere or notify any other site when new content has recently been added.
Think about it … if in a traditional website, all of your content simply sits there passively waiting to be found, then you have to constantly promote your website and your content to keep bringing in web traffic.
WordPress is different!
The WordPress CMS application comes with default functionality that lets you set up, configure and build an automated “traffic generation” machine, where all you then need to do is add content and your website will do the rest, immediately notifying various online properties about your new content to start bringing you new web traffic …

(With an expertly configured WordPress web site, you simply add content and your website does the rest, notifying other sites about your content and bringing you back web traffic!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …

(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part Two of The WordPress Website Traffic Blueprint overview, we go over the components of this automated web traffic system:
- Setup – Learn the best way to start if you don’t have a website yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – By default, WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings to help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings have to be configured for optimal benefit.
- Automate – Your traffic system requires not only internal WordPress settings to be configured but also an integration of your site’s built-in functionality with 3rd-party services and other online properties (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – After configuring your site settings and integrating your website with various external tools, you then begin to publish new content on a consistent basis and WordPress will immediately notify and inform search engines, your social media sites and other online properties about the new content, giving your site wider exposure online to potential visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend starting with a content publishing strategy to build traffic organically. With the right systems in place, you can start to measure and understand incoming traffic and gather valuable data that will allow you to make more intelligent and cost-effective decisions when using new traffic generation methods.
