WordPress Traffic Automation Blueprint – Overview
Traffic is the lifeblood of almost every business online.
Learning how to drive more traffic to your website is essential to running an online presence successfully. Driving traffic to a web site is also one of the most difficult challenges faced by almost every web site owner.
Why Do So Many Small Businesses Have Difficulty Bringing More Traffic To Their Websites?
If you search for any of the information below in Google …
- “how to increase more visitors to your web site for free”
- “get more traffic to my web site for free”
- “top 25 ways to attract more visitors”
- “ways to attract web visitors using podcasts”
- “need more website visitors”
… and you will be immediately presented with lists of pages offering you information about ways to help drive more website visitors …

(There are loads of methods to get more website visitors. In this article series you will learn how to set up a simple system to take advantage of all these traffic generation methods!)
Clearly, there is no shortage of ways to drive visitors to your web site. There are thousands of courses and free sites online that can teach you cost-effective ways to get more visitors to your website.
The problem is often more to do with business owners not investing sufficient time into learning how to grow web traffic sustainably, not setting up systems for managing the process effectively, and, in many cases, not even being aware that there are ways to automate and leverage your web traffic generation.
The diagram below shows how most small businesses typically approach the challenge of generating website traffic …

(This is how many businesses approach traffic generation)
Essentially, the approach many businesses typically take is this: first, you build your website, and then you figure out how to drive traffic to your website.
As you will discover in just a moment, there is a smarter approach.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that “outsourcing” your traffic generation will eliminate the problem.
There is nothing wrong with outsourcing if you have systems set up to manage your traffic generation campaigns already. If not, all you will probably do is end up wasting a lot of your valuable time and money looking for a profitable traffic-getting strategy.

(Without a solid foundation and the right systems in place, website traffic generation can become a costly activity!)
Getting web traffic sustainably requires setting up a solid foundation online, implementing proper systems, continually testing campaign variables, experimenting with different marketing and promotional methods, analyzing results, comparing ROI across different traffic generation opportunities, etc.
Is There A Simple, Automated Way To Get Website Traffic?
Imagine if all you had to do to attract targeted traffic to your site was to regularly add valuable content to your website or blog.
This is not science fiction … it’s a fact! As a matter of fact, many website owners already have some or all of the prerequisites in place for this to happen … and you can too!
In our Web Traffic Blueprint article series, you will discover how to set up an automated traffic generation system that can begin to attract targeted visitors to your website, simply by publishing new content on a regular basis to your website.
How To Set Up An Automated Traffic System
As you can see in the diagram below, the web traffic blueprint we discuss in this article series involves 3 basic steps:
- Set up systems to lay down a solid foundation for generating sustainable traffic
- Add content on a regular basis to drive traffic and generate data organically
- Start testing other traffic methods

(Driving more web traffic sustainably involves laying a solid foundation online and putting proper systems in place)
At this point, we’re mostly concerned with Step One. The purpose of our article series is to lay the foundations of a traffic generation system that will ultimately:
- Save time using automation and leverage
- Save money by starting simple and scaling up when required
- Automatically get your website content indexed faster in search engines
- Instantly notify and publicize your content to all of your social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Gain valuable insights about your traffic generation strategies, track results, measure ROI, etc.
- Outsource traffic generation while maintaining full control of the process
- Grow your business online cost-effectively and sustainably
You can achieve all of the above using what we will refer to throughout our article series as an “expertly configured” WordPress site …

(With an expertly configured WordPress site, you simply post new content and WordPress will then do the rest, notifying the world about your new content and bringing you back traffic!)
What Is An Expertly Configured WordPress Site?
An expertly configured WordPress website is not the same as a professionally-configured WordPress site.
An ”expertly configured” WordPress site is a website or blog that is not only built with the WordPress CMS, but has also been expertly set up and configured (either by yourself or professionally) to take full advantage of the enormous power, ease-of-use and functionality of WordPress and how it can be integrated with various sites, specifically in areas like search engine optimization, 3rd-party site syndication, and analytics.
Why Use An Expertly Configured WordPress-Driven Website?
We provide a number of comprehensive articles on this site about the benefits and advantages of using the WordPress CMS to grow your business online.
Understanding how an “expertly configured” WordPress blog will help drive targeted visitors to your business requires several articles, which is why we strongly recommend that you spend some time reading our posts and subscribe to our site (this way, you will be informed when new content on this topic gets published).
Let’s begin by addressing some basic questions:
What makes WordPress so special? What does WordPress provide that other web platforms don’t?
Take a look at the diagram below …

(Static vs Expertly Configured WordPress Website)
Many web sites are traditionally built on platforms that create “static” websites. Essentially, this means that the content simply sits inside a server waiting to be discovered. A static website doesn’t communicate with anyone else outside its platform; it doesn’t ’ping’ anybody in the cybersphere or announce to any other site that new content has been published in the site.
Think about it … if with a traditional website, your content simply sits there passively waiting to be found, then you have to continually find ways of promoting your site and your content to continue bringing in new visitors.
WordPress is different!
WordPress provides many features that allow you to set up, configure and build an automated “online traffic generation” machine, where all you then have to do is publish content and your site will do the rest, immediately notifying search engines, social media and other online properties about your new content to drive your business more traffic …

(With an expertly configured WordPress site, you simply post content and WordPress then does the rest, informing the world about your new content and bringing you back traffic!)
An Automated Content Distribution, Traffic And Lead Generation, And Sales & Marketing System
With an expertly configured WordPress site, you can build more than just a website for your business … you can set up an automated traffic and lead generation and sales & marketing system, where all you do is publish your content and WordPress then automates the rest …

(Set up an automated content distribution, lead and traffic generation, and sales and marketing system with WordPress)
As your business evolves, you can add more functionality and automate processes like:
- Sell products and services with e-commerce,
- Capture leads with opt-in forms and add your subscribers to newsletters and autoresponders,
- Allow visitors to register on your site with different membership levels,
- And so much more!
You can do all of this using inexpensive WordPress plugins. Once these plugins are installed and configured on your site, just direct your visitors to the appropriate sections (e.g. your store, subscription forms, membership area, etc.)
The video below shows you what an expertly configured WordPress site can do for your business …
In Part Two of The WordPress Website Traffic Blueprint overview, we explain the components of your automated website traffic system:
- Setup – Learn the best way to get started if you don’t have a website yet, or if you already have an existing site that may or may not have been built using WordPress.
- Configure – By default, WordPress already comes with a number of built-in features and settings to help you generate traffic. Learn what features and settings need to be configured for optimal benefit.
- Automate – Your traffic machine not only requires expert configuration of internal WordPress settings but also integrating your built-in WordPress features with 3rd-party tools and other online properties (e.g. webmaster, analytics, and social media accounts).
- Publicize – Once your WordPress site settings have been configured and integrated with various third-party sites, all you have to do is publish new content regularly and WordPress will instantly notify and inform search engines, your social media accounts and other online properties about the new content, giving your content wider online exposure to potential visitors.
- Optimize – We recommend starting with a content strategy to build traffic sustainably. With the right systems in place, you can begin to monitor and understand incoming traffic and gather valuable data that will allow you to make better decisions when using additional traffic generation strategies.
